Therapeutic cloning, using Somatic-Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT), is the process of harvesting embryotic stem cells for medical purposes, such as cloning new organs for someone in need of a replacement. Since the organ will be composed majorly of the patient’s cells, the chances of the body rejecting the organ is unlikely, this technology will potentially save millions of lives. Using this technology, endangered animals, such as the Siberian tiger would be able to strive on as a living species for many more years than predicted.
